Chamberlain claimed that her family depended on the talents of her father, and they had to endure "hard times" when he became ill. Her school was Central Middle School in San Carlos, California, and Notre Dame High School, Belmont,[9] an all-girl Catholic preparatory school in which she was on the track and cheerleading teams. She was a member and cheerleader of the California All Stars Pink cheerleading team. [10] She left high school in the second term of her junior year. She graduated with a passing score on the California High School Exit Exam. [11]
