
Bellamy Young (born Amy Maria Young (born on 19 February 1970)[1She is an American actor, producer, and performer, most well-known for her role as Melody "Mellie" Grant in the ABC drama series Scandal (2012-2018). She was the recipient of an award in 2014, the Critics' Choice TV Award as the top supporting actress on the drama series. In addition, she appeared as the main character in the Fox series Prodigal Son (1919-2021). Young's acting journey began as a stage actress. She made her Broadway debut in 1997 when she played Mary in The Life's first cast. As well as being her Broadway debut, she's appeared Off-Broadway as Mary in Stephen Sondheim's musical Merrily You Roll Along (1994) or in Randy Newman's Faust (95-1996). 3][10] She made her debut on TV in 1995, when she played the character Dr. Courtney Evans, in her role as a frequent guest in the NBC soap drama Another World. She appeared in two parts on Law & Order, 1997 and 1998. Her film debut was in 1999 as the role of Black and White's crime drama. In the following years, she starred in other independent movies. In the early 2000s she began appearing in guest-starring characters on several television dramas and comedies, like The Drew Carey Show, The X Files, ER, Frasier, The West Wing, NCIS, Medium, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Two and a Half Men, Supernatural, Drop Dead Diva, and Castle. From 2000 through 2011 Young made over 30 guest appearances on television programs.
