Katy Perry, an American performer and songwriter, was raised in a strict family. Perry began singing gospel music as a teenager after spending growing up in the Church. Even though it was not required by her parents Perry was exposed to all sorts of music, which was made available to her close friends because she was born with an uncanny love for music from the start. Perry was an extremely outgoing and passionate person who aimed to fulfill her dream to be a musician. It wasn't easy in the beginning, and she faced a number of difficulties before gaining her first big break. She had to put many of her tracks on hold prior to signing with "Capitol Records. This was when her path as a musician took off. The album she released next, "Teenage Dreams", which won the hearts of many musicians and was one of the biggest album ever. It created many records as well as established Katy Perry's position as a well-known performer. Beyond writing and recording songs, Perry is also known for her charitable works. She's also a proponent of LGBT rights.
